Every branch shares HQ's primary category
The brand sells many things. Maps shows one. Website copy cannot fix that. We name the listing as the object and send fields to optimization.
Google Business Profile
Google Business Profile here is the Maps channel. Local SEO writes location documents on the website. This hub decides when a listing is the object, which child should own the next hour, and how those listings sit beside the site. We do not fill every field on this URL. We do not run a Maps grid on this URL.
Position
A location page can name a town. It cannot set a primary category on Maps. Search intent on a listing document is the profile a customer opens in Maps: hours, category, photos, the pin. If HQ picked one category for every rooftop, the channel is wrong even if the website is tidy.
Local SEO decides which doors deserve HTML. Stay here when the Maps profile is the object. Stay there when the city URL is the object. NAP on the site is not this hub.
Open local SEOGBP optimization implements categories, photos, and attributes. This hub points at that child. It does not become a second completeness essay.
Open GBP optimizationGoogle Maps SEO works the pack on a listing already live. Distance and proof live there. The hub routes. It does not run the dashboard.
Open Google Maps SEOGBP management keeps facts true after fields exist: hours, posts, Q&A, access. Open that child when the listing is already complete and drifting. Do not start cadence from an empty profile.
Open GBP managementWe start with scope: how many profiles, who can edit, whether Maps is even the channel. Then we inspect the listing as a product, not as a city H1. Then we open one child. Then we watch so two teams do not run fields and grids at once. Local SEO stays the presence program. Optimization stays fields. Maps SEO stays pack operation. Management stays hours and posts. Review management stays ask and reply policy.
We will not turn this hub into a form tutorial. We will not reprint franchise ownership rules as the spine. We will not write review scripts as the H1. If the only object is which city URLs to keep, open local SEO. Stay here when the object is the listings program.
When this fits
This hub fits when Google listings exist or should exist, and the next hour is unclear: fields, pack, cadence, reviews, or a website document instead. If you already know the child, open that URL.
The brand sells many things. Maps shows one. Website copy cannot fix that. We name the listing as the object and send fields to optimization.
Two teams think they own local. The hub splits site work from listing work. Cadence of hours belongs on management once fields exist.
Fields, grid, reviews, and citations collide. We pick one child for this period. The rest wait. A pack course is not a program.
We will say so. Eligibility to create honest listings is still a channel question. A purchased pack is not a deliverable. Website towns still belong on local SEO.
Process
Four program jobs in this order. Watch is a hold on parallel children, not a ranking calendar. Field tutorials do not start in the last step unless that is the named child.
We count profiles you can actually open. Access, brand groups, and whether Maps is the channel at all. A spreadsheet of stores is not access. Keyword targeting is one job on the listing name you will keep, not a stuffed title for every service.
Outcome A scope note: how many listings, who can edit, whether the site should lead instead.
We look at one live profile as the product: category story, pin, hours, photos. Topical relevance is whether the profile matches the door, not whether a city page is long. Keyword density on the listing description is not a hub score.
Outcome A listing snapshot with the defect class named, not a full field tutorial.
We open one URL. Empty or lying fields go to optimization. Pack operation goes to Maps SEO. Hours and posts go to management. Ask and reply go to review management. Website documents go to local SEO. Duplicates go to audit.
Outcome One child for this period, with the others refused in writing.
We set who may change the profile, and when we recheck that two children did not start at once. Coverage is the watch: the named child still owns the hour. A new agency login is a request, not a second program.
Outcome A watch rule for access and for which child is live.
Deliverables
You leave with a scope note, a listing snapshot, a child choice, and a watch rule. You do not leave with a completed field pass, a grid, or a ranking date.
Profiles you can open, access owners, and whether the website should lead. Dated. Last year's store list is not this note.
One or a sample of profiles: category story, pin honesty at a glance, hours, obvious defects. Not the full optimization checklist.
The one GBP or local URL that owns this period. Refused children listed so vendors cannot reopen them by habit.
Who may add a manager. When to recheck that fields and grid did not start together. A weekly pack score is not a watch.
Optimization, Maps SEO, management, local SEO, review management, and contact, each with one sentence. This sheet is not a reprint of those children.
Benefits
The snapshot names the mismatch. Optimization owns the fix when that is the child.
City HTML stays on local SEO. Listing objects stay on children.
Fields, grid, and reviews do not collide in the same week by accident.
A new manager login is a request. The watch rule holds.
Methodology
This works when someone can open Business Profile Manager, and someone can say no to a parallel vendor. If both are missing, we are collecting Maps screenshots. We are not running a channel.
We start with access, the rooftop count, and the person who can refuse a child. If any of those is missing, we name it first.
We open the live profile, not a deck of pins. Does this listing match the door? Is the next hour fields, pack, cadence, or a website page?
You may rename the roles below. You may not leave the child implied. An implied child is how three vendors edit one description overnight.
First working session
The first hour is one listing that shows the wrong category, a closed hour, or a pin that is not the door. It is not a tour of every GBP child.
We open Business Profile Manager if we have access. We list how many profiles appear. We pick one that is wrong in public. If the defect is empty fields, the child is optimization. If the defect is pack operation on an honest pin, the child is Maps SEO. If the defect is drifting hours, the child is management. If the defect is a city URL with no door, that is local SEO, not this hub.
Then we confirm who else can edit. Two agencies in managers is usually the job. A public Maps card that looks finished is not evidence of access.
We leave with a first child choice or a stop. A choice names the child, the refused URLs, and who may add a manager. A stop names what is missing: access, a rooftop count, or a problem that is only website presence. Both are outcomes. A child shopping list with all URLs open at once is not.
AI search
Honest listing facts can help later extraction. This hub cannot sell AI Overviews, a chat mention, or LLM visibility as a score.
People ask whether filling Maps will land the brand in Google AI Overviews (AIO). If every rooftop shares one HQ category, generative search has a messy place type to lift. That is ours to route to the field child. If the listing already tells the truth and models still invent a branch, that is an AI search audit. A program across search UIs is AI SEO.
AI search may still read the website. A hidden or duplicate profile does not help the Maps channel. We do not sell Overview presence.
We check brand and place names on the listing. That is entity optimization as a listings-channel input. It is not a Knowledge Graph project from this hub.
LLM visibility needs a sentence a model can quote, then measurement on LLM SEO. A profile snapshot can show a stale hour. It does not sample answers.
Schema
LocalBusiness JSON-LD on the website supports a door the page already states. This hub does not implement schema as the job. Identity on HTML still follows the location document.
If the site markup says one category and the listing says another, that is a channel split. Semantic keywords in JSON-LD do not edit Maps.
We refuse site FAQ blocks that exist only to copy listing Q&A. Posts and Q&A cadence live on management or local content children.
Markup will not force generative search to cite the profile, and it will not force a map pack. Eligibility is not a purchased mention.
Who we work with
Someone has to refuse the next listings child. We work with that person. We do not replace them with a second Maps retainer.
Controls managers. Holds the watch rule when a vendor wants a second child.
Confirms doors and hours. Does not become the field tutorial unless optimization is the named child.
Can keep going on local SEO. If they try to run this as city HTML, two jobs collide. Documents belong on local SEO.
Questions
GBP optimization is the child that fills and corrects listing fields: category, description, photos, attributes. This hub is the chooser. It decides when Maps is the channel, which child to open, and how listings sit next to website local SEO. We will not teach every field as this H1.
Local SEO decides which doors deserve a location document on the website. This hub runs Google listings as a program. A city URL is not a profile. A profile is not a city URL. Both stay live. They do not reprint each other.
Google Maps SEO is the child that operates the pack from a listing already on the map: pin honesty, distance, proof. This hub routes you there when pack operation is the job. It does not run the grid from the chooser page.
No. The hub does not sell pack rank, a week count, or a position you can invoice. Insights and child dashboards are observations. Prominence is not a product on this URL.
No. Policy, duplicates, and reinstatement live on GBP audit when that is the job. This hub will not sell a hold outcome. Cadence pauses on a profile under review. We do not post through a hold as a program.
No. Honest listing facts can help later extraction. They do not buy a place in Google AI Overviews (AIO), a generative-search mention, or an LLM visibility score. If the profile already tells the truth and a model still invents a branch, that work sits on an AI search audit and on LLM SEO.
The Maps channel, not the website
Send the brand, how many profiles you think you own, and who can log into Business Profile Manager. We will mark whether the next hour is fields, Maps operation, cadence, reviews, or a website presence list instead.
Scope, listing, child, watch. Not a pack SLA.
