Social Media Optimization

Social Media Optimization to Match Name, Handle, About, and Link

Every network you can log into still stores a name, a handle, an about, and a website link. Those four fields can disagree with the live site and with each other. We list the profiles you actually own. We write the strings you will stand behind. We match them. We recapture after a rename. We do not run a content calendar. We do not buy ads.

Next step

Review these profile fields

Tell us the site and the bottleneck. We reply with next steps, not a generic deck.

  • Inventory
  • Strings
  • Align
  • Recapture

The /smo/ hub decides which families are in the program. Organic flights live on social media marketing. Spend lives on social advertising. LinkedIn Company Page objects live on LinkedIn marketing. YouTube Studio objects live on YouTube marketing. This page does not reprint those jobs. It starts from logins you still have and fields those consoles still let you type.

We will not claim a Page you cannot enter. We will not treat follower counts as a score. We will not sell a ranking date on a bio. If two legal entities share a trading name, we name that collision before we type a handle. A Facebook cover for a closed kitchen belongs on Facebook marketing. A highlight for a summer menu that already ended belongs on Instagram marketing. This URL is for the same four fields agreeing across networks you already own.

When this fits

When logins still publish a retired brand

This page fits when you can still edit profiles and those profiles disagree with the live site. A flight, a paid mix, or a single-network object pass start on those URLs.

A merger name never reached three handles

The site uses the new legal name. X, TikTok, and Pinterest still show the old @. People search the old string and land on a dead story. We list every handle you can change. We write which one is official. We do not buy the old handle from a squatter as a ranking product.

About copy still describes the pre-merger entity

The homepage dropped the old trading name. LinkedIn, Facebook, and YouTube about still use it. That is a field mismatch, not a campaign. We write the about you will stand behind. Length limits are named. Keyword density in a bio is not an SMO score.

The website slot points at a vanished careers microsite

Each profile has a link slot. Some still point at a hiring page you unpublished. Some point at a vanity URL with no redirect. We match the link to a live document. A UTM factory is not this job unless the destination itself is wrong.

Ghost accounts appear in search and you cannot log in

Old agencies left Pages. Former staff left personal brands that look official. We name them as ghosts. We do not invent credentials. Claiming work, if it is even possible, is a legal and platform ticket, not a finished field.

Process

Inventory, strings, align, recapture

Work happens in this order. Each step leaves a note brand can keep. We do not start a posting calendar at the end. The point is fields that match the site.

  1. Inventory

We list every network you can actually log into: display name, handle, about, website link, and who holds the password. Search intent on the official site has to be the source of truth for those strings. A screenshot of a profile you cannot enter is a ghost, not a row to ship. We include people profiles only when you will stand behind them. We exclude Groups, events, and playlists. Those are network objects on other children.

Outcome A dated inventory of editable profiles, including ghosts named as out of reach.

  2. Strings

We write the four strings you will keep: name, handle, about, link. Topical relevance is not a reason to cram every service into 160 characters. Character limits per network are named. Legal name versus trading name is named. A slogan that only lived in ads is refused if it is not the company.

Outcome A field sheet brand and legal can sign, with per-network length notes.

  3. Align

We compare the live fields to the sheet. Semantic keywords belong on the site, not as a second about. Where a console truncates, we write the short form. Where a console has extra slots (location, category, buttons), we only fill them if they still match the site. We do not run LinkedIn Featured or an Instagram grid from this step.

Outcome A match note: what to change, what the console will not allow, what stays ghost.

  4. Recapture

We set a date to recapture the fields after a rename, a merger, or a site move. Entity optimization here is keeping public names aligned across logins. LLM visibility measurement stays on LLM SEO. A follower report is not a recapture. A ranking promise is not a recapture.

Outcome A recapture date and an owner who still has the logins.

Deliverables

What brand can keep after we leave

You leave with an inventory, a signed field sheet, a match note, and a recapture date. You do not leave with a flight calendar, a paid mix, or a follower target.

Editable inventory

Networks you can log into, who holds admin, and ghosts you cannot enter. Dated. Last year's social audit PDF is not this list.

Field sheet

Name, handle, about, and link you will stand behind, with per-network truncations. A campaign slogan is named if it collides.

Match note

What still disagrees on live profiles, what the console blocks, and what we will not fake. Ghosts stay listed as ghosts.

Login owner line

Who can still type the fields after we leave. An implied agency admin is how a retired handle comes back.

Recapture date

When to recapture the four fields. A weekly engagement score is not a recapture. An acquired brand that still has its own handle can keep a second row. Mixing both names in one about is how people pick the wrong company.

Benefits

What a posting calendar should not undo

Retired handles get a written owner

Brand agrees the string. Networks stop advertising a name the site already dropped.

Ghosts are listed, not ignored

Unowned Pages stay off the ship list. Nobody pretends a screenshot is a completed field.

Dead links stop being treated as done

The website slot points at a live document. Microsites you unpublished are named.

The recapture has a date

Someone recaptures the four fields after a rename. Nobody pretends a content calendar bought consistency.

Methodology

Who can type the about field today

This works when someone holds admin on the profiles you will keep, and legal can confirm the name. If both are missing, we are collecting screenshots. We are not shipping fields.

We start with the live site, the legal name, and the logins you still have. If any of those is missing, we name it first.

We open each console. We do not trust a brand deck. Does this about match the homepage? Is another org using a near-handle?

You may rename the roles below. You may not leave the official handle implied. An implied alias is how two brands share a search result.

  1. Field pass lead SEOConsultants.ai writes the inventory, the field sheet, and the match note. We do not become your social agency because the bio was stale.
  2. Brand or legal owner Confirms the official name and which former handles are retired. A locked name with no owner is a finding.
  3. Whoever holds admin Can type name, handle, about, and link, and can recapture after a rename. A locked console with no owner is a finding.
  4. Whoever already posts Stops treating a campaign caption as a permanent about. They are not asked to run a flight from this page.
  5. Leadership Accepts that ghosts you cannot enter will stay named as ghosts. An unread field sheet is not a failure of this page. A purchased follower count would be.

First working session

Start with the handle that is not on the site

The first hour is one retired string that still sits in a live profile. It is not a tour of posting tools.

We pick the official site name. We list every network login you still have. We capture name, handle, about, and link. If two of those disagree, that is the job. A flight with no end date is social media marketing. Spend with no conversion event is social advertising. A Company Page that still sells a sold division is LinkedIn marketing as native objects, and the cross-network string still belongs in this pass.

Then we fetch the live homepage and the four fields. We compare them. The extra or missing strings are usually the job. A content calendar that looks busy is not evidence that fields match.

We leave with a first inventory or a stop. A list names the profiles, the four strings, and who can type them. A stop names what is missing: admin, legal sign-off, or a job that is actually a single-network object. Both are outcomes. A posting roundup is not.

AI search

A matching bio is not an Overview product

Honest profile strings can help later extraction. This page does not sell AI Overviews, a chat mention, or LLM visibility as a score.

If networks still publish a retired handle, generative search has a messy name to lift. That is ours to tidy as fields. If official pages already tell the truth and models still invent a social URL, that is an AI search audit. A program across search UIs is AI SEO. We do not sell a place in AIO from this URL.

The site has to state the name first

AI search needs a page it can fetch. A bio that never matched the homepage does not help.

Public names should match the thing you are

We check whether profile fields and the homepage use the same organization name. That is entity optimization as a field input. The public panel still lives on Knowledge Graph work when the object is Google's box.

Measuring model answers is another URL

LLM visibility needs a sentence a model can quote, then measurement on LLM SEO. A field sheet can show a stale handle. It does not sample answers.

Schema

sameAs only for profiles you will keep

Organization JSON-LD can list social URLs the site already claims. This work flags a mismatch with live fields. It is not a schema campaign as the whole job.

The URL in markup must match the live profile

If sameAs points at a handle you retired, extractors guess. We name the mismatch. We do not add five directories as stuffing.

Ghosts stay out of the array

Dead social URLs in markup train the wrong graph. We list which links may stay. Fake profiles do not go in.

Extra types do not force a mention

Markup will not force generative search to cite the bio. Eligibility is not a purchased mention.

Who we work with

The person who can still log into the profiles

Someone has to type the four fields. We work with that person. We do not replace them with a second social retainer.

Admin holder

Ships name, handle, about, and link. Recaptures after a rename. A contractor-only login is named.

Brand or legal

Confirms the official strings. Holds the line when a campaign wants a slogan in every bio.

Whoever already runs posting

Can keep going once fields are true. If they try to run this as a flight, two jobs collide. Flights stay on social media marketing.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Is this the /smo/ hub map?

No. The hub decides which networks exist in the program. This page ships four strings on every profile you can log into: name, handle, about, and link. A map of doors is not a spreadsheet of fields.

Is this the same as social media marketing?

No. Social media marketing runs organic flights with a theme and an end date. This page does not pick a campaign, a posting week, or a proof clip. If a handle still says a brand you retired after a merger, this is the URL.

Do ads live on this URL?

No. Paid social auctions, audiences, and conversion events live on social advertising. Boosting a post is spend. Editing an about field is this job. We will not open Campaign Manager from a field ticket.

What happens to ghost profiles you cannot log into?

They stay off the ship list. We do not invent a handle, claim an abandoned Page we cannot access, or mark an unowned listing as done. Inventory you can edit is the only object here.

Does this replace LinkedIn or YouTube children?

No. Company Page, Showcase, and executive headlines stay on LinkedIn marketing. Channel, titles, and playlists stay on YouTube marketing. This URL owns one pass across many networks, not the native objects inside one console.

Will matching bios get us into AI Overviews?

No. Honest profile strings can help later extraction. We do not sell Google AI Overviews (AIO), a generative-search mention, or LLM visibility as a score. If the site already tells the truth and a model still invents a handle, that measurement sits on an AI search audit and on LLM SEO.

Four fields, many logins

Do three networks still show a name you retired after the merger?

Share the live site URL, bios from every login you still hold, and the legal name you use now. We will say if the leak is a retired handle, about copy from the old entity, a website slot that 404s, or a ghost profile you cannot edit. Then we name the next field to change.

  1. Profiles you can actually edit
  2. Name and handle you will keep
  3. About and link that match the site
  4. Ghost accounts named, not faked

Inventory, strings, align, recapture. Not a posting calendar.
